BK Academy of Chess - King & Rook vs King & Pawn - Part I

This lesson teaches how to play when your king is behind your opponent's pawn and your rook controls the promotion rank. The king is protecting the pawn so the rook can't do it alone. To get the win, you must know how to play these positions. And remember to pause the video to use your brain, you learn better that way.

“Play the opening like a book, the middle game like a magician, and the endgame like a machine” (Spielmann)

Tell me what you think by leaving a comment below, it's the easiest way to get promoted.

this is not my wisdom. I got this lesson from Practical Chess Endings by Paul Keres

Perfect length for a chess video too. You teach the concept and then take a bow. Clear and concise explanations.

Thanks for that because I am lazy when it comes to studying endgames. You make it more enjoyable

These are very important lessons which I encounter everyday. It is important obtain opposition and at times NOT acquire opposition. This is when I must remember what I have studied, remembered and retained as to MY advantage. It is at this time when I lose or win a game.We and or I,need to realize the importance B-K has been kind enough to share with us. Thank you.Like I said earlier, I encounter these endgames EVERYDAY.BELIEVE IT.LEARN IT.Thank you for your time and dedication to us, your fellow chess players...Greg gjsgregskyplayer
